It depends, some owners offer instant booking while others need you to request. Once you request a crash pad, the Owner must approve the booking before it is confirmed. You will receive a confirmation email once the Owner accepts your request. Usually takes less then 2 hours.
When selecting a listing, select the checkboxes to choose how many/which crash pads your interested in. Some users only have one pad for rent, others may have up to 6.
To cancel a booking, log into your account, go to “My Bookings,” and select the reservation you wish to cancel. Our cancellation policy will be outlined in our terms and conditions and below.
If you damage the crash pad, you’re responsible for repair or replacement costs. Damage Protection ($5-$15 at check-out depending on the length of booking) covers accidental damage, but not misuse. Report any damage to CrashPal Below.
Yes, late drop-offs may incur fees:
Cancellations are free up to 48 hours before the rental start date. Canceling within 24 hours may incur a fee. Weather-related cancellations are always refundable.
Yes, if the crash pad is available. Contact the Owner as soon as possible to request an extension. Additional rental fees may apply.
Yes, please return the crash pad in the same condition you received it. Shake off dirt and remove excess chalk. Additional cleaning fees may apply for excessively dirty pads.
No deposit is required, but Borrowers are responsible for damage, loss, or theft. Optional Damage Protection is available at checkout.

If you want to start renting out your own crash pads and the site wont let you, or you choose “I only want to book” when creating account, you have two options. A: Contact me here and I’ll switch your account. B: Delete your account and create a new one.
Yes! If multiple pads are available, you can rent them by checking each box for what crash pads you want to rent.
Communicate with the Owner if you’re running late. Extended delays may lead to cancellations.
Let the Owner know and allow the pad to dry before returning it. Excessively dirty returns may incur a cleaning fee.
Late fees apply, and extended non-returns may be treated as theft, leading to full replacement charges.
Unless it is immediate family, then no, the person booking is responsible for the crash pad and must be the one picking it up.
Yes! If you need multiple pads for a group, contact Owners in advance to coordinate rentals.
Some Owners may request ID to verify the Borrower’s identity.
Contact CrashPal support (support@crashpal.com), and we’ll work to resolve any issues between you and the Owner.
Inspect the pad at pickup and report any damage immediately. If it’s unusable, CrashPal support can help find a replacement or issue a refund.
Typically, yes. Some Owners may offer contactless pickup/drop-off, but this must be arranged in advance.
If an Owner is unresponsive for an extended time, contact CrashPal support. We’ll help you find another rental or issue a refund.
Yes! You determine your rental price, but we recommend competitive pricing to attract more Borrowers.
In the User Dashboard go to “WithDrawals and Payouts” and follow the link to the payout form. Payouts will be sent out within 24-48 hours of request and the 1st and 15th of each month.
You can file a Damage Claim through CrashPal. If the you have protection, we’ll help with reimbursement. Purchase protection from Theft or Damage in “MY INSURANCE”.
Late returns may result in late fees that will go to you. If an item is missing for an extended time, it may be treated as theft. You will get paid the cost or your pad(s) if you have them insured for theft.
Yes, you have full control over which requests you accept or decline.
Yes, pads should be clean and in good condition before every rental. It is reccomended to take photos before every booking for claims.
Canceling last minute can inconvenience Borrowers. If unavoidable, please cancel ASAP to allow them time to rebook.
Absolutely! You can list as many pads as you want and manage availability through your dashboard. You can also list multiple pads under one listing.
Borrowers assume all risks when using rented gear. CrashPal requires users to acknowledge this before booking. We recommend printing out a short waiver for you to sign with the borrower and grabbing a photo of their ID for maximum safety.
Use clear photos, detailed descriptions, and competitive pricing to attract more renters. Fast responses and positive reviews also help! Also understand the climbing seasons is helpful. (i.e. fall and spring)
